Building your confidence at the workplace isn’t always easy. Depending on the amount of work you have to complete each day, the type of work environment you’re surrounded by, and the level of education you posses in comparison to co-workers and others, you may be struggling with other issues including self-esteem, self-worth and feelings of inadequacy. These feelings can affect your work performance over time, so it’s best to deal with them when you can in order to remain a productive member of the team.

If you have an administrative assistant or co-worker who is available to help prepare materials, reserve meeting space and handle other details, make sure you use them as much as possible. Having another person to rely on can make the meeting much more enjoyable and manageable for you and the other people attending.

How to Deal with Difficult People in Your Audience

When giving a presentation or speech, there is nothing more distracting than an unresponsive audience, a restless audience or an angry audience. But by remaining calm, you can speak to these types of audiences and still get your message across. Keep in mind that it’s probably not you – it may be the subject matter, the issues you’re trying to inform others about or it might be something unrelated like uncomfortable seating or a bad meal.

Should you rely completely on advertising to look for jobs? Advertising can get expensive for employers if they continually had to post for openings. In large companies, the turnover rate can be high with retirement, relocation, illnesses, etc. With those kinds of vacancies companies could conceivably expect to run a continuous employment spot in the newspaper. This could take a big bite out of their budget.
